I'm one of those people that veers off in seemingly random directions depending on what I find interesting. I have several things near and dear to me though: Equality, LGBT issues, environmental issues, movie and television entertainment, novel and script writing, and music. You'll find a lot of rambling and links about all of the above here.

Doggies...
Today is going to be uneventful (lol or at least that's the plan). I'm running both boxers (in separate trips) over to the vaccination clinic at the pet store. It's a boatload less expensive than a vet's office visit. Vaccine markups irritate me. I get all the same catalogs as most of the vets use so I know how outrageous it truly is.
Myra, aka "the Old One", is about 9 3/4 yrs old. We got her as a rescue when she was two. She loves people and absolutely adores children (she is the perfect nanny dog). Unfortunately she hates other animals. We were able to get Peanut as a puppy and she
accepted her but no other animals. So taking her places where other animals are can be problematic.
This is Myra shortly after we got her, she has gone so grey. And she's slowing down and loosing her teeth and some bladder control. It really sucks that she's getting so old.
Peanut is five and she is a momma's dog. Big time. We had needed a submissive pup that wouldn't challenge Myra and boy, did we ever get one! She is ultra-submissive and basically afraid of her own shadow, but she is super sweet and calm and I can take her anywhere.
Peanut, however, is really not the brightest crayon in the box.
Seriously. For example - this is her as a puppy "hiding":
She really thought we coudn't see her. Now that I think about it, she still does this and still thinks we can't see her! She really has no learning curve. None whatsoever.
Another example, she's about a year or so old here:
"Oh no, Mom, I didn't dig that hole, it was the other dog!" I'm so glad she eventually outgrew the digging thing.
Both my hounds are spoiled absolutely rotten. But then again, why have them if you aren't going to spoil them with love and attention - and cookies!
So I'm off to get'em their shots so they stay healthy!
Peace and love,0
